and any formal knowledge discipline we have now ends in 'ology' reflecting the root meaning of Logos.

The idea that we can investigate, test and discover organizing principles of our often confusing world assumes a rational effort to discern and test ordering principles will succeed, and based on prior experiences, this does seem our best hope of being able to manage in a confusing world increasingly full of hazards we've helped create, versus unquestioning doctrinaire faith content to point at the confusing and mysterious aspects of the Universe and say 'God must do that to make us rely on faith more'.

If one reads scripture, especially 'the prophets', it would seem God is more intent on making us 'grow up' to be forgiving, diplomatic, loving, kind, and peaceful, generous to all in need, discerning and careful in judgment, and ready to welcome truth as it is proven and demonstrated. Theology's 'business' ought to be inclusive embracing of truth in love, rather than blocking and trying to shut down any research into and demonstrations of truth in schools and for national policy.
