  •  So thankful you & Leaves and the other driver (4+ / 0-)

    are ok.

My son was broadsided (on the drivers side) by someone running a red light recently.  The other driver claimed she had the green; she never looked to her right and never slowed down.  Fortunately, son reacted instinctively & slammed on his brakes and steered hard right to minimize the impact.  He & his passenger had only soft tissue damage & some scrapes, but his vehicle was totaled.  He had to kick out his door to get out & check on his passenger & the other driver.  It was a sunny, dry afternoon, not much other traffic.  Oh, and my son is a police officer and he was driving his cruiser at the time of the accident - a big black & white Crown Vic with the lights on.  Go figure.

Comfort the afflicted. Afflict the comfortable.

boy, if we ever get to the point of our 20yo wanting to learn to drive, we're going to look for a school that advertises DEFENSIVE driving! (it would be worth it not to have his dad try to teach him, and dad's the better driver of the two of us)

"real" work : a job where you wash your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom...
