    What memories your diary and photo brought back!  I remember laughing as I ran through a bluebell wood in Surrey when I was 21.  Coming as I did from the hot, dusty, brown American Southwest, I'd never seen a bluebell wood before.

    Once I bought some bluebell-scented powder for a friend of mine and sent it to her.  She loved it--it appealed to her even more than lavender.

    Earnestly hope that these beautiful flowers don't become extinct.  I love them.  I didn't know harebells were Scottish.  Josephine Tey mentioned them in her novel called The Franchise Affair.  It was something about a girl's eyes being the color of "bluebells and harebells and summer distances..."

    Your diaries are making me powerfully homesick for England.  :)
