    I always wondered why slaves and former slaves didn't often resort to terrorism.  Same for Jews during the Holocaust.  I'm sure there were many desperate acts, but never enough to end the misery.  And yes, terrorism on a large scale is effective--see Israel after WWII--see peaceful terrorism (obstructionism) in India at the same time.  Go one step further, see union strikes before PATCO in the 1980s.  Terror can be murder, economic, or just plain ostracizing.   A better word is bullying--which seems to be a natural urge amongst most people--if they can get away with it.
