but you make it difficult to follow.

but you do not makeit easy to follow.

In my experience, there is good and bad medicine ... some of it driven by medical personnel and some of it by consumers (us).  We all want the newest and best BIG toys like MRIs and scans and fancy meds, but those thing cost money.  When a hospital or a clinic or doctor buy the machine or learn the procedure, they want to use it for the practice and to help pay for it.  When we watch TV and see ads for whatever medicine, we think "Hmmm... maybe we should buy it" and the docs are mostly ready to prescribe because they have phrama reps visiting and courting them all the time. I had a secretary that fought her doctor all the time ... she wanted every new test or procedure that she read about whether or not there was any reason to do it. We are sometimes lousy consumers.

When I was in the hospital, they wanted to do a swallowing test because I was having trouble swallowing ... of course I was, I had just been extubated after 2 weeks of having that tube down my throat. I fought them on that and 7 years later, I am still swallowing just fine.

ON the other hand, there are some really wonderful things out there in the medical field and we are lucky to have them.

So, again, this is not an either/or issue.  You have to be careful who trust whether it be your doctor, your hairdresser, you stock broker or your preacher.  You can't know know everything, but you can try to figure out if you trust the  person and are getting the results you want/hope for (within reason). You don't park your brain out on the curb just because they say "trust me."
