  •  Dear Governor Perry, (0+ / 0-)

The nice cartoonist was very clear in his cartoon just exactly who he was mocking, and it definitely was not West, Tx. No, the nice cartoonist was mocking you, governor. You, and the rest of the Texas Republicans who want to return Texas to a state of might-makes-right savagery. You, and the rest of the Texas Republicans who think that rules are for the little people, not for you and your campaign donors. You, and the rest of the Texas Republicans who look with disdain and malice on everybody who isn't part of your Good Ol' Boys Club, who see the rest of us as sheep for your shearing.

But the times they are a-changing, governor. Your era of loot-and-pillage politics is just about over. The Republican Party in general, and the Texas Republican Party in particular, feel that things are more important than people. Well, pull out your smelling salts, boys and girls, because there's a lesson hovering on your horizon about how things generally turn out for the ruling class when a society decides that it doesn't really like that moral calculus.

The whole point of society is to be less unforgiving than nature. - Arthur D. Hlavaty
