  •  All of these people are already there and are (0+ / 0-)

already employed. So I don't see your point.

    •  We currently give 1.1 million green cards a year (2+ / 0-)

Under the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, that number would go to approximately 2 million a year, not including those who would receive the amnesty. Only a third of the 33 million green cards will go to illegal immigrants who will be amnestied.

      •  Again, these people are already here and working (0+ / 0-)

illegally. Giving them green cards will make them work legally. And we are not giving 1.5 million green cards per year. Where did you get this number?

are being exploited by their employers.  Once they can get better jobs, why would they stay in their current exploited situation?  They would join the already tight job market, with an advantage over citizens.  They don't have to be offered healthcare.

If they decided they liked their current job and wanted better pay or working conditions, the unscrupulous employers would just fire them and hire from the next wave of undocumented visa over-stayers.

          •  I don't understand your point. If they have green (0+ / 0-)

cards, they will be subject to all labor and other laws just like everyone else. They will have no advantage over anyone. What you're saying applies more to their current situation.
