  •  My brother and I talk cirrent events, (5+ / 0-)

politics, the mean spiritedness of the GOP, and such a few times a week.  He's getting to the point out of anger and frustration where he's had to tune out.  The consequence of paying attention to all this crap is taking a toll on so many of us.  And now seniors will go hungry, cancer patients who could be saved will die, kids will starve, the poor will be homeless.  In other word a GOP utopia.  They make me sick.

The GOP will try to destroy anyone who doesn't think like them or anything they can't own. Time to stop this childish crap.

    •  That's true (6+ / 0-)

but a better solution is to be resolved and learn to manage the frustration and outrage, and keep paying attention and taking action. Organized protests would be one way to help relieve the feelings but until then, it's possible to remain resolved.

Tuning out is the worst of both worlds (though I understand how and why people do it). But it allows elected representatives to screw us over with less protest. They can just sail along doing all of these things, and the silence appears to be consent.

I've been hearing the same kind of feedback about the cuts and especially the plans to cut Social Security and Medicare. People are really fed up and feel betrayed.
