    I have actually lead "Barrett's Privateers" in the past, but if you put me on the spot right now, I would have a hard time remembering all the words off the top of my head.

      He used to have a radio show that was broadcast on WERU in ME, which I listened to regularly.  He was an amazing guy.

      "The cook's in the scuppers with the staggers and jags" is right up there with Zevon's "Little old lady got mutilated late last night"

      Barrett's Privateers was one of the greatest songs of any genre, ever, imo.

      He fell in with the Catholic Workers movement.  That might explain his attractiveness to an ex nun, but it also means he knew many of the folks my sis and brother in law worked with in the Portland OR chapter of that lefty org.
