    but seriously, this site has recently developed an obsession with dirty words at the expense of dirty ideas.  Say anything that might be remotely construed as a race-based pejorative by someone claiming to be a member of that racial group, and you're NRed or banhammered; defend "chained CPI" and you're okay.

    Go figure.

      Truth is I will agree with the race, gender, and religion based objections to how people phrase things more often than not. Maybe I think context needs to be taken into account more and jbou's one bad word was far less offensive than many of the sexist, racist, anti-Islam and anti-Semitic stuff I see slip by the Ban Hammer around here. So I am not coming from exactly your same point of view...but on this we seem to agree.

      I live in NYC so I hear it all every day. We limit what our kids say publicly (at least until they are teens where it is a lost battle), but otherwise it doesn't bother me. But I do get the need for community standards, but I also think this is a case of community standards going a bit awry
