Glad to see this. Why is this user allowed to call people c**, assholes, fucktards, etc. with no obvious consequences. What are we saying to newer users and the community overall about standards of behavior in comments when this goes unchecked over and over?

Will you hear my plea to re-instate jbou? He may be an acquired taste, and not be for everyone, and did in fact lose it the other week...but I enjoyed his off-kilter ramblings.

He is actually on a time-out.

       I like jbou (0+ / 0-)
but to be fair, he was a douchenozzle the other week. I don't blame admin for banning him, he was way outta line. But I personally would consider allowing him back in. He's not a bad or evil person. He went off the rails, not something unbalanced like threaten or stalk someone here. I think most folks know who he is, and either run to or avoid his diaries.
I can easily abide by kos' 'no 3rd party requests' as far as jbou goes. I have no idea if he even wants to come back. But if he did come back, I'd read him...

has finally stopped emailing me. And I got bored of George Rockwell and stopped responding to him. He got the hint.

And I don't consider third-person request for reinstatement.

It proves that the word is not what you thought it might be .

The one hide rate of one comment , 1/168 , doesn't show

that certain people are allowed to use it, others less so.

The use of the word doesn't seem to upset people , so your case kind of falls apart .

And the fact that the person you are talking about for using that word said

Will you hear my plea to re-instate jbou?
does that make any sense to you ?

In the past year only one trusted user hide rated one comment with "douchenozzle" in it .
The other 167 times "douchenozzle" was used no trusted user hide rated . The 167 other times "douchenozzle" was used in a comment , the comments got a combined set of recommends in the hundreds .

I'm a member of the 'in crowd'? If so, I'd disagree.

I was stalked by another member here for a year! A year of receiving unwanted, (dozens & dozens of) odd emails. Crap like "do you love me?", name calling emails, saying they had googled me in real life, found my wife's obituary and then passing judgement ON MY DEAD WIFE, saying they had read every comment I ever made here...diaries written about me(w/o naming me). I asked for moderation several times, but I never even got a reply from admin. Doesn't sound too 'in crowdy' to me. It wasn't until I called the police to inquire what constitutes cyber-stalking, and the police called my harasser--and the harasser made light of the police being involved that shit got real.

fwiw, legally, I was not "stalked", I was "cyber-harassed"--a crime.

The better I know people, the more I like my dog.

                            And not very effective.

But, since you did ask waaaaaaaay up above how it could be perceived as sexist, I gave you the answer.

You changed the question so that you could answer .

I didn't ask if it was stupid , juvenile or effective .

The claim made was that it was sexist , I asked to be shown how it is sexist . Not how it could be perceived as sexist .
Make the argument for it being sexist or fail .

is pretty much the demand being put on anyone accused of using worty durds around here.  "Prove that saying X about Y isn't racist!" for instance -- except that the approach is to HR and ban first, and then not to even ask later.

Please do stop , your generosity is not .

Do try your best to show "douchenozzle" to be sexist , that was your claim , you put that forth , its on you to show it to be true . If you can not then it will remove your credibility .
