  •  Keystone: "Will supply oil for export & raise oil (22+ / 0-)

prices in the Midwest so the supposed "benefit" to citizens doesn't benefit any citizens except for the owners and shareholders of the oil companies--oh, and their paid politicians.  That oil supply that we are supposedly going to get? Well, maybe not so much:

Politicians paint a rosy picture of lower gas prices and abundant supply, but Canadian firms behind the Keystone pipeline expect it to supply Gulf Coast export markets and raise Midwest oil prices...

Canadian companies backing the Keystone XL...actually expect it to supply more lucrative Gulf Coast export markets as well as raise Midwest oil prices by reducing “oversupply” in that region...

...and all we have to sacrifice is the environment, oh and many of us will have to pay more for gas because of the pipeline, but it's all good--just ask our politicians, and their right wing ignoramous apologists.

and looked at fuel prices in the Midwest?

They're already as high as anywheres (except maybe for CA and HI).

so that argument is totally bogus.

Basically, the midwest refineries who now experience deep (but declining due to burgeoning rail shipment) discounts on tarsands dilbit are those are profiting big time from no KXL (and stand the most to lose if it is built).

that's because they get their feedstock cheaply and sell it for global prices.
