Some of you just can't comment on anything without bringing him or his supporters into it.

    ODS is real.

I was taking a swipe at Obama fans.

Supporters recognize that the recipients of their support may sometimes deserve criticism. Fans reject that notion and band together to attack the critics. Much as we see happening in reaction to my comment.

You have a good day, now.

      •  Don't bullshit us. (8+ / 0-)

It's pretty clear that Obama supporters, and lots of people who don't support him, see a lot to be liked in the report.  That's why the market leaps a percent.

What you wanted to do is smear everyone who was pleased as a "fan",  and having provoked a response, play the victim.

      •  Good distinction (0+ / 0-)

I think you nailed the difference between the two.  I've been an Obama supporter since the get-go (since the '04 convention in fact) but the fan-hood element ebbs and flows, and as of late it's been sinking.

      •  as one who frequents sports sites, I can tell (5+ / 0-)

You that fans are often quite vociferous in criticizing their favorite teams.  So I'm not sure that "fan" is the appropriate word for what you describe.  Maybe "fanboy" more accurately captures what you mean to convey.

But you know what I've noticed?  There exist some progressives that have a kneejerk reaction to piss on any good news.  And that is the other side of the coin.  Just as there are those who want to shut down all criticism, there are those that want to shut down acknowledgement of anything good.  "Much as we see happening in your reaction to this diary."

    •  Seriously! Comment on them so there's proof (1+ / 0-)
