    Catholic, and Ayn Rand was an atheist.  Who do you want on your side?  Long-ago "fallen-away" Catholic & atheist that I am, that's not a difficult question.  At the least, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.  

    Of course, the proof is in the pudding.  E.g., will Francis muzzle and demote the economic reactionaries currently infecting the American hierarchy and will he subject the hierarchy's obsession with misogynist sexual repression to his concerns about "social justice"--I.e., put concerns over the born over those about the unborn or even unfertilized gametes?
