    There's a verse in the NT saying that anyone who tells you he knows the day of the end times is a liar. Christians are also called to be stewards of the Earth and its creatures. Now this is interpreted in different ways, but there's no rational way to interpret it that suggests we should be responsible for wiping out the Earth and its creatures!

    Also, there's no rational reason for thinking that it's up to Christians to help bring about the destruction of the Earth to satisfy the prophesy of the second coming. If the Bible had a prophesy that everyone in Israel would die 2000 years after Jesus was born, it would not be the morally correct thing to murder everyone in Israel on Jan 1st, 2001!

    There's a difference between a responsible gun owner and one that's been lucky so far.
