something about preparing people for trauma......Tell that to any new recruit and then deal with that same soldier upon return, look in his eyes or her eyes , after dealing with trauma  knowing they have seen death up close and personal and tell me again how one can prepare for trauma.  PLEASE do not go there with me.

I would stay on this diary and argue till every cow on the planet came home that leaving a blood splattered brick and mortar building up set up on the grounds were little innocent babies were not just killed but slaughtered in earshot and eyeshot of other little babies.  Grown men and women trained for battle with 9 weeks of basc and AIT preparing for war not Pooh Bear cannot deal with the trauma of death.  DO TELL ME AGAIN how the Vietnam Memorial ..known as the healing wall and those who visit it could somehow have been spared if things had not been whitewashed because I am too sensitive on these matter to not call Bullshit on your comment.  Yes..they want to build  new school on the site and memory serves you well, just your logic of trauma fails you IMO.  Go where I've gone, deal where I have dealt and then we could talk.

Let me be clearer then which is often a problem for me. There is no perfect preparation; however, avoidance makes matters worse, IMO. I'm not assuming I know your pain nor should you assume you know mine which is why I stated it is my opinion.

Your last sentence is arrogant, ignorant, and inconsiderate. Your pain does not give you the right nor basis to arbitrarily inflict pain on others nor dismiss pain they feel. It does not make you special. It is not unique. Your pain is very real though. It is very heartbreaking.
