  •  It all stinks. (18+ / 0-)

The way they reinstated the EM law after it was struck down by voters, being sure to ballot-proof this time, the "new and improved" expansion of powers for EMs, the lack of transparency, the selloff of public assets to cronies, all of it. It stinks to high heaven, and I hope the voters remember all of this in 2014. And right to work. And the tax increases on the middle class, retirees, and the working poor, to fund a huge business tax cut. People kicked off assistance, unemployment benefits slashed, attempted election fraud... the beat goes on.

At least I'm spending the weekend camped out in the woods with old friends doing conservation stuff... it beats thinking about the fuckery that currently passes for governance in this fair state.

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government?"

Michigan does have a republican form of government.  The Constitution doesn't say anything about municipalities within those states.

Apparently, feudalism is just fine at the level of counties and below.
