    should know any of that either.  It is none of their business to know what kind of car I drive or any of the other infractions of our privacy that we've allowed over the years. Now the medical information is something that may be inevitable with programs like Medicare and Medicaid but I believe as long as you aren't hurting anyone the government should leave you alone and not pry into your personal business.

    Background checks, while mandated by the government, are a private matter between the seller and the buyer and if your name pops up as not eligible to purchase a gun then you shouldn't be able to buy one; but that information should stay private.

    I do think that the government has a role to play in helping people but I also believe that a person has a right to privacy that we've allowed to be infringed upon over the years.
