    My May Day memories mainly involve a theater group's performance of Euripides' Orestes in Yale's Battell Chapel. Towards the end of the performance the door facing the New Haven Green suddenly flew open, admitting a number of demonstrators fleeing from clouds of tear gas.

    I also seem to remember being shown a copy of the New York Daily News with a front-page picture of a peace activist slipping a flower into a National Guardsman's rifle barrel.

    The Dutch kids' chorus Kinderen voor Kinderen wishes all the world's children freedom from hunger, ignorance, and war.
