    ...and how much does each of these votes cost us - the taxpayer?  I heard somewhere that each sham/show/BS vote they do like this costs almost $1 million.

      cost anything?  The congresscritters are in session presumably and that is what they are being paid to do.

        There's always opportunity cost.  Conceivably they are not doing actual valuable work to hold these sham votes.  By not doing productive work, there is a cost to these votes.

        Time is money.

        Although I'm at work anyway, there is a cost to reading the newspaper vs doing actual work-work.
