  •  One of my common prayers: (13+ / 0-)
    Lord,
today make my words as smooth as butter and as sweet as honey...
for tomorrow I may have to eat them.
Top o' the evening to you, Chris & company. Just waiting for Mr. Scribe to get home from assorted errands so we can head out for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. Things still confusing but I'm hanging in there; Mr. Scribe's got my back so hopefully that'll help matters.

Think what I'm going to have to do is go through all of mom-in-law's financials and prepare a spreadsheet so she can see in one place where all her money is and how much is there; hope that'll get her to stop worrying about money quite so much. I think she just thinks about how much is going out and forgets about what's coming in (dividend payments, Social Security, required distributions from IRAs, etc.) -- if I can draw on my dormant accounting knowledge and make up an income/expenditure statement, she might feel just a little bit better. And if she feels a bit better, that makes things a hell of a lot easier on me and Mr. Scribe.

There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- goddammit, you've got to be kind. -- Kurt Vonnegut
