in this case.  Syria is disintegrating, Israel has intelligence on the ground, that's what they're best at.  I am critical of their occupied territories policies, but they may be the only actor in this big mess who is thinking clearly on this issue.  It's not their bombing Iran idea that is terrible, it's their taking out unsecured weapon delivery systems that's probably necessary.

On this one, I am glad they are on the scene. They didn't start this war, it's happening, and it's worsening.

    •  Doesn't make sense. Countries just can't (7+ / 0-)

attack each other without justification and in the end that requires evidence, proof of the need.
And Israel certainly did help start this mess.  As for disarray, that's your take but it depends on what you're talking about.  The Syrian govt and its Army are still a force the sponsored proxy terrorists, mercenaries and jihadists can't defeat without military help from outside.  That's why all the talk about chemical WMDs so they can fabricate an excuse to go in.  They tried going thru the UN three times I believe.  It's been over two years since this started, on the surface anyway.  The only solution is for all outside actors to get out and stop supplying fighters, weapons and money, then negotiate a deal at the UN.  But of course that's not what the imperialists, the GCC, and Israel want.  They want regime change and balkanization, they have from the beginning.

    •  I'm sorry to put it this way, but (6+ / 0-)

you are quite simply wrong on several points here:
Syria is not disintegrating; Israel is not particularly good IMO at HUMINT in Syria (or Iran for that matter); and if they did in fact strike something in Syria, it likely wasn't an unsecured weapons delivery system.  Finally, the strike was probably not 'necessary' as you put it.
