  •  There's Himalayan blackberry on my city lot (8+ / 0-)

    east of the Cascades, and on my organic farm near Roseburg.  It's a PITA, mostly, especially along the roadsides where it's poisoned by the County and can't even be harvested.

    I limit it to one little corner patch here at home; on the farm controlling it is a bigger job... I've heard goats are effective!

    The thing is, the berries are big and delicious and make great jam, pies and cobblers. I had Salmonberries on the coast;  they're flavorless compared to the big, invasive blackberries.
