  •  Boy, here is one of those times when I'm grateful (11+ / 0-)

to have been raised an atheist. Such to-do over nothing.
My family leaves their bodies to science. (Not as great examples just for medical students to muck about with.)

I'm not sure the city cemetary can legally refuse someone but maybe they can.

Are there muslim cemetaries? It would be nice to see a christian cemetary (is that what they are?) step up and you know, do the Christian thing.

having a public location subjected to likely focused vandalism or protests - even if they have no skin (er...or body matter?) in the game.

And there are likely people who'll complain, no matter what reason or justification - no matter whether it impacts them or not - simply 'cuz they can make a stink.

I would suspect there are Muslim cemeteries, as there may be for each major religion...

to see those commiting the acts prosecuted.

Anyone is free to protest though I can think of a lot better things to protest about.

The info for the city manger for Cambridge is:

        Phone (617) 349-4300
        FAX (617) 349-4307
So that anyone who wants to echo what Charles Pierce had to say can call and let the city know.
Let his family bury him. Let them bury him wherever they want.

        •  I just sent an email suggesting burial at sea as (2+ / 0-)

an acceptable alternative. Thanks for the email addy.

Though I'm not in favor of Be Skeptical's overall tone, the muslim clergy had approved burial at sea for bin Laden, so it does seem a possible resolution.
