    At least not in the sense you're talking about.  America has a very, very, very small group of people who might be described as radical leftists, or perhaps anarchists, but they simply don't have the numbers to be significant.  

    I'd be very hesitant to equate the militia movement types on the right with a few leftie bloggers who sometimes use hyperbolic rhetoric when talking about the president.  The former are heavily armed and organized and are planning action against the U.S. government.  The latter are just a bunch of people spouting off at their computer keyboards.  

    Unlike Weimar Germany, we don't have any real kind of organized extreme left, so I don't see any way in which you'd have extreme left-wing members of Congress joining with Teahadist Republicans to destabilize the government.  Here in the U.S., even the most liberal members of Congress are deeply committed to representative democracy and to respecting the Constitution.  I don't see any evidence of that changing.
