  •  Yet another cautionary tale. (7+ / 0-)

He was pretty heavily feted back here in the day: I can't find all the old diaries, but given that I was at one of the anti-war protests where he was arrested, I'm sure I was happy to have him out there speaking out.   But once he got the camera time, and he started letting loose... it got real weird real fast.   He's a loose cannon in the worst way (i.e. the kind of person who needs to learn to listen instead of talking all the time) and by the time he got his own talk show, it became a prolonged act of crazy.  He and Russia Today were a match made in some lower level of hell, so it's a pity they parted ways (i.e. they terminated him, which says a lot).  I hadn't heard his name in a while, so it's both dispiriting and not-at-all surprising to see he's gone further and further into that spiral of delusion.  Abolish the federal government?  Right.

To the diarist: Kokesh self-identifies as a Republican, libertarian, and Tea Partier.  I don't think he was invoking Ron Paul to split the Republican party on Obama's behalf.
