Was blamed on a YouTube video?  I'm not making the connection.

    •  You think THAT's what the issue is (4+ / 0-)

Sorry, the whole "YouTube blame" thing is apparently partially correct, there are contemporaneous reports, in Libya, stating that the AQ related group was fired up by the "Innocence of Musilms."

If there is a cogent claim, it is that the Administration was "uncaring" about the security of State Department missions. Pointing out the state of mission security during the Bush admin is certainly fair game.

Also fair game is pointing out that State Department Diplomatic Security is poorly funded, by the Republican controlled US Congress.

made the right call by withholding that characterization until the CIA knew who was behind the attack and why they committed it.

The only Americans fixated on a terrible even that happened all those months ago are the mouth-breathing yokels, prissy southern housewives, and old, white men watching Fox "News" and listening to the bloated and drug-addled bloviator on AM radio.

I live deep in GOP territory and the local "Republican Women's Auxiliary" is forever posting flyers around town about Benghazi.  Not a word about the thousands killed and maimed and orphaned by W's war of choice against Iraq, based on lies.

Too bad the Fox News "patriots" didn't hold W's feet to the fire a bit more about the 3,000 Americans who burned to death while he sat paralyzed with fear in a third grade classroom and Cheney hid in his underground bunker.

    •  Just like no one could have predicted the original (0+ / 0-)

9/11 right? Because I recall Bush, Cheney, Rice saying pretty clearly that no one could have predicted it while there were mountains of evidence showing that multiple sources in the intelligence community were warning about Al Qaeda attacks for months and were totally ignored.

When we stop putting leaders from the past up on pedestals and ignoring their flaws, we can start seeing our present leaders for what they really are.
