  •  Thought this was going to be… (4+ / 0-)

…about a land vehicle product of the Morris Garage.

Given the popularity of the modern Mini Cooper, the lineage of same might make for an interesting diary—not that I've tired of the aviation relatied ones…

Thought for sure there was going to be a 4 wheeled beastie in here.  Look, I even found one in an airplane museum:

...in the dreaded 3-terabyte 'brick'. It is at RAF Cosford (Hangar 1). Its a 998cc, Morris 'Traveller'. British Army registration and colour, as you can see.

Assigned to No. 24 Base Workshop, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Rebuilt by Army apprentices over a two year period from 1985/86, then presented to the RAF Museum, Cosford.

....MUCH more importantly, a Bosch coil, leads and spark plugs, so there is always a nice fat spark to be had! :)

You can find Travellers still, but they are much sought after, particularly the late model 1,098cc 'A' Series engine with better heater, interior, etc. Many preserved 'Moggies' are retrofitted with the 1,275cc Marina engine, which makes for better performance all round.

In Australia many owners fit the Niassan/Datsun A12/A13/A14 engines instead, as spares 'Down Under' are cheap and easy to obtain.

with regard to ambiguous - "lure them in by any means, a la Angler Fish" - title!  :)

I SHALL write in the 'Moggie', as I used to travel to college in one (owned by a classmate) a 'split-screen' 803cc model, no less.........
