...about some materials being 3D printable, but the technology for metals isn't down to the home shop price level yet. If it were, I'd be trying to convince Calamity Jean to let me buy one, and not for making silly-ass zip guns.

ol' codger and can remember the TRS80, my first Apple computer with two floppy disks, and can also vividly remember purchasing a four function calculator for $99.  And now look what's available in the world of digital electronics and computers.

3-D printers are a game changer and I cannot even fathom what they will be like 30 years from now.....hope I live long enough to see it.

It didn't even have a disk drive---everything was stored on a tape recorder.

Amazing to me how younger people now take computer technology (and phones too) for granted. It's development over the past 30 years has been nothing short of miraculous.

And this new 3d technology will do the same thing. In 30 years it will be doing stuff we can't even conceive of today.

disk drives that sat on top of the main unit.  And I mean I thought I was on top of the world with that setup, which today has less memory than the watch on my wrist.

That is where I see that technology evolving to.

The tent got so big it now stands for nothing.
