    Rather than trying to ban the data files, a clever campaign would flood the internet with flawed data files.

    But that would be diabolical.

      Could this 3D printing technology be used to manufacture something small-but-significant, like a sear pin?   Someone could convert an AR to full-auto pretty easily, and I'm thinking that a plastic/composite sear pin wouldn't have to endure the same pressures as a firing pin, chamber, etc.   Along the same lines - could a 3D printer be used to make the parts for a reliable, durable suppressor/silencer?
