and I doubt anyone commenting here does, however, someone with one beer short of a six-pack driving by or walking by might.  Why is this so hard for some to understand?  Hell, we have to worry about women walking streets to and from work.  We are reading about abducted children daily.  It's the crazies in the world that could harm this child IF unattended.

    •  So what is the answer? (0+ / 0-)

diligence yes, but to live in fear? If the child is more comfortable that way why should he be forced to cover up? Women should be able to walk streets to and from work with out fear. Weather or not the boy has clothes on is not going to matter to some perv. The three girls in Cleveland, I am pretty sure they were probably fully clothed when they were taken, and that didn't stop their kidnapper.

The OP, called CPS, called the police. Both said they knew the family, and weren't concerned. He then felt a need to talk with the family, all good so far.

"a man hailed me and that conversation was a little creepy too. He was assertively friendly and basically asked if I wanted anything without referring to what was on offer"

I would have done the same thing as the "man" in this part of the story, but I probably would not have been as obtuse. My question would have been "What is your interest, and why are you obsessed with my nude and natural son?" He felt creeped out by being asked what his interest was, I would have been a little suspicious of his interest.

dealt with pedophilia.  You do not assume what triggers their desires.  What I am saying is you don't leave a child vulnerable.  If the parents have a special child, that is more reason to supervise him when he is outside in the nude.

Cristo.  This conversation has gone way off in a direction that I do not believe is fair to the diarist.
