  •  Dyscalculia? (9+ / 0-)

Is that like what I have called dysnumeria, numeric dyslexia, which usually seems accompanied by a failure to remember any numbers and trouble doing math things with numbers instead of abstracts?

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?

    •  I think it's two words for the same thing (6+ / 0-)

And yes, it's numeric dyslexia. Also numbers flip around, there's spacial reasoning issues, sometimes musical deficits as well, though mine's from a left sided injury so my musical ability isn't really affected thankfully. One day I can do math, the next I come up a blank or with the wrong answer, etc.

      •  That's me all over! (4+ / 0-)

Especially the numbers flipping around or trading spots. I can't do a string of more than five numbers unless it's broken up like a phone number should be.

I don't know why I have it, but I've had it all my life. I hid it because I was ashamed, so it's never been diagnosed, but I have it in spades. Also left-right dyslexia.

I'll have to remember the name "dyscalculia". Thank you!
