    He has a small single-engine, and tells me I'd have to lose about 20 pounds before he could safely carry both me and sufficient fuel for more than about 15 minutes in the air.

      ...though I would dearly love to.  With me, and half a tank of gas, I can take another 230 pounds, and I don't think he's going to make it any time soon.
