    Stronger?  There's been a century of negative propaganda bought hook, line, and sinker by the average worker.  Even in Ohio, once a hardline Union state, a factory worker told me ten years ago that unions are now worthless, because they can't keep your job from being shipped to China.  The people who need the unions, don't believe in them.  

    And they have good reason, because unions got fat and lazy, and for roughly five decades wouldn't even entertain the notion of someone joining the union without working in a shop they'd already organized.  In order to recruit from a population where no more than 7% currently work in union shops, they have to be willing to expand their vision.  I've seen some evidence that they're starting to do that, but it's still baby steps.
