  •  I try to buy American (6+ / 0-)

I try to buy American made clothes or at least union made clothing. I work for a living so I really only wear jeans and T-shirts but I seem to have found a source for those made here in this country. I used to get my clothes from a place called No Sweat (union made clothing from non sweat shop manufacturers) but they no longer exist. I now get my clothing from All American Clothing Co. The prison industrial complex has made it so I have to worry about if those Americans making clothing are in prisons. We as consumers need real tools to make our money help support our liberal beliefs and to totally bypass giving any of our money to those sick corporations that abuse workers like this. It should be easier to make informed choices as consumers.

choices.  I was just looking at the TS Designs website.  They have a dirt to shirt motto.  The cotton is grown in the Carolinas and becomes a shirt in North Carolina.  Pretty interesting.

All American has something like that "dirt to shirt" for their jeans as well- American grown cotton to American made jeans. Surprisingly enough, American made clothing is not much more expensive and it is definitely holding up better. I believe there is a real market out there for people that want to support their neighbors by buying American.

      •  Thanks for the tsdesigns tip. (1+ / 0-)

Have bookmarked the page! I might just order a few tshirts. Have been following the American Giant story, but they've taken off so fast that they're seriously backordered right now. Proves there's a huge demand for made-in-America textiles. I'm happy to pay more for homegrown products!

Ho'oponopono. To make things right; restore harmony; heal.

I also try to buy my clothes American made. Another company worth checking out for briefcases, backpacks, luggage, etc. is Duluth Pack (Duluthpack.com). When my Lands' End canvas briefcase died, I went to order another one exactly like it. In the intervening years, the option to post customer reviews appeared on their site and I read them. I learned that since Sears took over Lands' End that the quality of these bags has gone way down. My husband searched for made in USA products online and discovered Duluth Pack. I love my briefcase, and their products are guaranteed for life. You cannot go wrong.
