I suspect that 99.9% of this site agrees that the GOP is full of duplicitous nihilists.  It's the one remaining area of universal agreement.  Why, accordingly, have we seen a series of failed attempts to "compromise" w/ the crazy?

The Grand Bargain was a bad idea when it was first floated.  It is a worse idea now.  We've seen the Gang of 6 on health care, the CFC on the budget, the failed budgetary "negotiations" of 2011 (where Boehner was vetting proposals w/ Rush), and God knows how many other equally foolish extensions of the olive branch.

Mr. President--GOP said in public last term that their overarching priority was ensuring your defeat in 2012.  Now, they're making your forced departure your priority.  Believe it or not, they wish you ill, personally.

I wonder when this WH will finally wake up.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

but I believe our president is in it for himself. I believe he could give a shit about the repubs or the Dems. The secret trade deal I read about here last week, the snuggling with the banksters.....and I was one that was saying "let's get him reelected, you'll see. He'll come out and kick ass and take names!"

      Wow, was I ever wrong........
