  •  Interestingly, their uncle says that (14+ / 0-)

the accused men inherited "a lot" of money from their father.

The uncle doesn't know about the primary suspect ever having a job since he left being a bus driver for the public school system.

The house was owned by the primary suspect.

Limbaugh doesn't have any of his facts straight - which we know doesn't matter to him - but it is worth pointing out just how off the mark his spin really is.

    •  Story involves brown people, gotta bloviate (9+ / 0-)

about SOMETHING.  But I like to think that even Limbaugh's hardened listeners, might draw the line at this one.

    •  The "welfare scam" is particularly nutty (15+ / 0-)

How is welfare going to pay up to support a child who was born in a basement to a missing kidnap victim that nobody knows about?

      •  Maybe he did sign the young woman and (5+ / 0-)

kid up for welfare in order to scam the agency.  That doesn't mean that all welfare payments are somehow wrong.  The reality is that these men who participated in this horrible imprisonment of the women and children were "master manipulators" - and the other reality is that the women and children probably deserved welfare - not to support the abductor(s), but to make sure that the women and children weren't starving.  Hell, it is possible that's what kept the women from becoming murder victims.  I'd happily make sure those payments were made given the other bad options.

        •  Could be (8+ / 0-)

Of course, you don't just "sign up". Documents are usually required - IDs, SS cards, birth certificates, etc. Also documentation on residence, income, etc.

do find ways of cutting corners and persuading people to do things they should not.

Anyway, my greater point was basically that Limbaugh's point of attack is bullshit.

Not only the documents and other 'proofs' you mention, but also the person applying needs to appear personally with that ID, and sign several forms.

Now I'm referring to procedures in place in Oregon; Ohio could be different.

    •  The Limbaugh Bubble (0+ / 0-)
Limbaugh doesn't have any of his facts straight - which we know doesn't matter to him - but it is worth pointing out just how off the mark his spin really is.
What Limbaugh says on air are his own recrafted facts; Limbaugh spins stories to match his shtick. He knows very well that most of his audience will not fact check anything he says.

All the more reason for the StopRush campaign. Do his advertisers actually expect the dittoheads to leave their compounds and buy anything of value?
