  •  MI-SD 27 Special Election (4+ / 0-)

Okay, so the heavily blue 27th State Senate district here in Michigan was up for election, tonight.  It's based in Flint, which is about as Democratic as you can get, so the results aren't surprising.

Anyway, with 60% in the Dem, Jim Ananich, is leading his some-guy opponent 71% to 26%.  Jim is actually an improvement over the the former state senator, John Gleason, who was actually kind of flakey and recently elected Genesee County Clerk (Flint).  This gets us just back to 12 seats in a 38-seat senate.  But, it's always great to trade out for better quality, though.

Ananich is actually creeping up to 72% with nearly 80% in.  BTW, I forgot to mention that as a state representative, this opens up his seat in the state house, MI-HD 49.  House District 49 actually sits mostly outside the city of Flint, and is based in adjacent Flint Township.  It's still a very blue seat.
