From the incomparable Daniel Willis and Thomas Peele:

    http://www.insidebayarea.com/...

An accounting of how many people have just been straight up murdered by the Oakland Police in the last decade, and how the investigations were half-assed to make sure the trigger-happy cops weren't punished.

    •  Very similar to the Blueford case. (2+ / 0-)

A close examination of police and coroner's reports, court depositions and an internal affairs report raise significant questions about Gonzales' account...

Internal affairs investigation never explored differing accounts: Sgt. Donna Hoppenhauer, the internal affairs investigator, never mentioned the conflicting accounts in a 39-page report. The District Attorney Office's report last week also does not mention Coglio's account

Same thing happened with the Blueford "investigation."
    •  And yes, this article was probably a factor. (2+ / 0-)
