    And have for over a decade. SodaStream is founded there. Israelis are excellent entrepreneurs, but terrible marketers. They miscalculate public perception in the U.S. frequently and make stupid marketing decisions as a result. The folks there at SodaStream probably still think Rush is regarded as some type of iconic American hero here by the mainstream. There is also ego wrapped up; Israelis feel big to be associated with big things in America, so hearing their ad played on Rush will incorrectly make them think they've hit the big leagues.

    I know it sounds silly and unlikely, but I've years of senior marketing experience with them and this is how they roll until they discover it makes them look stupid. I am sure they have an American counterpart who has warned them this would be a mistake, but the other thing about Israelis that one can generalize about -- they are hard-headed as hell.

    Hell, from my view, it is completely the wrong audience. Conservatives are consumerists and love buying the big sugary things from Wal-Mart as they proudly raise to toast mocking Bloomberg. Those lazy dolts are not going to lift a finger to make their own soda.
