  •  Israel has been under constant assault (0+ / 0-)

You're acting like the war was safely resolved in 1967, in which case you seem to think Israel should have voluntarily returned to 67 borders.  This is also ludicrous.

Some form of warfare has taken place along Israel's borders for decades, most recently Arafat's Second Intifada in which 500 Palestinian suicide bombers set off nail bombs on Israeli streets and by schoolyards.

Under any basic understanding of warfare, Israel maintains the right to protect itself from threats via the post-1967 borders up to and until they reach a verifiable peace arrangement in which Israel can return land in exchange for a declaration of peace.

As the Palestinians continue to elect Hamas and continue to try to fire rockets into Israel (none of which justifies Netanyahu's atrocious bombing campaigns against Palestine), Israel has a right to its borders acquired in the 1967 and 1973 wars.

War is not a schoolyard game in which after a nation is attacked and wins, it shakes hands with the other side and says "Good show, sir!" and hands back everything.  Come on now.
