repercussions for the STUDENTS!  It is a completely fake argument.  Doesn't seem to bother him though.

      •   terrypinder didn't say "for the students". (2+ / 0-)

I  interpreted the comment to mean there were no consequences, period, but I didn't read up on the  case.

Perhaps I am daft.  To summarize where this came from:

And if that had been done on a public site?
Even back then, I think that person would have sufferered consequences, yes?

I think even that unnamed person knew that doing that at school would have repercussions, yes?

          And then we have terrypinder:
just last year here in Suburban Harrisburg a science experiment went very wrong in a classroom and several kids were injured, a couple badly.

there were absolutely no repercussions other than a safety review.

It seems pretty clear to me that he implies there were no consequences to any students.  Otherwise, why make this point?

Then, below, in reference to the same incident in PA, where once again he knows that no students were involved, he writes:

no one lost their job, and no one was suspended, and the local DA didn't consider pressing charges.
Please help me understand why this isn't a patently deceptive argument.
          •   maybe the point isn't necessarily restricted to (0+ / 0-)

how students are dealt with, but how  schools deal with incidents and those involved with them, whether teachers or students.
