    who will not be able to attend a school that was explicitly created to be free. Certainly not all of them are working class, but people who are working class are benefited far more because they can actually afford to go to art school and not end up hopelessly in debt from which they will never escape.

    If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.

      Now I wont say there are not a few students of working class background. But make no mistake...getting into Cooper Union isn't something you can do with a B-average from a public high school in Detroit. They're almost all from upper middle class or wealthy backgrounds that can afford all the things that make a for a top flight candidate.

        Nobody from anywhere no matter how rich or poor gets into Cooper with a B average.

        It's somewhere that you go with an A average from Bronx Science or Stuyvesant or Brooklyn Tech.
