    They're still trying to get a baseball team back in Springfield.  There's a low minors team in Holyoke, but that's about as close as they've gotten.

      of BB in Springfield, Dad tried to show me how to score a game, you were up close and personal to the game.  Dad said that just past 1st base was the place to sit cause that's where all the action was.  Years later I got to see the Atlanta Braves in the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.  It was never the same, even when my wife scored tickets on row FF, 6 rows behind the visiting team dugout, right next to the screen.

      Someone in Springfield told me Felipe Alou played minor league ball where Central High is now (but I never confirmed that).
      They still have stadium lights there, but they are so old and inefficient that you'd have to put another hydro plant on line in Canada to turn them on.

      I LOVE minor league ball.
