  •  I know the feeling! (24+ / 0-)

Slightly different situation because I'm self-employed, but very similar because as self-employed people know, it either rains or it doesn't. And I'd had too many months of client drought, plus some unexpected expenses like my cat's medical bills that put me deeper in debt than I've been for a very long time.

Long story short, I recently got a Writer position with an online job board for writers. I spent the first week pinching myself because it pays (relatively regularly) at a better rate than most of the writing jobs I've had. And I get my name on my articles, which are published on a website owned by the San Francisco Chronicle! (I had several articles published before I figured that out, lol)

The few paychecks I've had so far enabled me to catch up on my CenturyLink bill, which had gotten overdue to my great shame as I haven't had to extend my utility bills before. I can't tell you how good it felt to get it taken care of. Then I splurged a little bit and bought some organic juice and some frozen dinners (I.do.not.cook) at the Vitamin Cottage. After so long making due with cheap eats, I was amazed at how good that organic pizza tasted!

So, enjoy your Happy Dance and your bring-from-home lunch and your working day outfit. Your joy is palpable -- celebrate because you've earned every bit of it! I'm dancing with you -- in my pajamas, of course, because I work at home :D

PS: I'm 65. Yes, we greyhairs/Baby Boomers/old hippies have still got the touch!
