    however, I'm sure if the date is next year or later, it wouldn't matter. I eat stuff past the "best by" date, but I wouldn't want to give it away.

      station advertising the NALC food drive, and I saw the ad several times, said be sure to donate kids with no expiration dates printed on them. So mostly that leaves canned good and some of them have started saying...

        expiration date than one without. I had some old cans I threw away that had no date, but they were really quite old. It seems safer to have some with a date.
