Congress is stalemated, basically, so we're largely wasting our time and energy there. At the state level, in stark contrast, the battles are raging - over women's reproductive freedom and health, over climate science (e.g., bills to prevent people from even MENTIONING "se level rise!"), LGBT equality, guns, voting rights, etc, etc. Also, at the state level, it takes WAYYYY less money to make a difference. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, at the state level, a single activists (or donor, voter, volunteer) has MUCH more proportional impact than at the federal level. It's not even close, frankly...and groups like ALEC totally "get it."  What about progressives?!?
