    good morning, good morning, it's time to rise and shine, the sun is just above the hill, another day for us to fill, good morning, good morning.

    I cannt believe I still remember that. Do parents realize the trauma they can invoke with that crap?

    (And with apologies to anyone who actually loved their parents' singing them awake. I found it annoying.)

      Not being a "morning person", mum knew it would take an act of God to get me going.  She did with humour what she could not do with nagging.

      Funny enough, once I had to get myself up, I trained myself to awaken right before the alarm would go off!  I loathed that sound--still do--and would do almost anything to avoid it.

      But I'm still not a morning person, for the most part.

      We cannot call ourselves a civilised society if we refuse to protect the weakest among us.
