        The DoJ is not an independent entity, it answers to its superiors, just like all other department heads do.  No administration would ever willingly give its subordinates the autonomy to go rogue, regardless of how trustworthy certain individuals may be, because the administration is always ultimately held responsible if something goes wrong.

        If you're taking the position that the DoJ didn't consult the administration before issuing the AP subpoena, then you're saying they did indeed go rogue, for which you have no evidence, and which would actually be even worse than what we know thus far has happened.

        It may turn out that there was some over-riding, grand reason why the AP was wire-tapped, but until that reason is explained, questioning the basis for what appears to be a gigantic over-reach is entirely appropriate, as multiple DEMOCRATS are presently doing, like it or not.
