  •  Thanks for reminding me about teaching by example. (3+ / 0-)

My parents never gave me much advice,
didn't sit me down and tell me how to live my life.

As I learn how badly so many parents fail
    at keeping their households together
    and raising their kids,
    I realize that my parents
were dong better than I realized at the time,
    and,
    therefore,
teaching me better than I realized at the time.

    Teaching by solid, stable, example.

I'm not a very industrious or pushy or ambitious man,
and it seems that I've done very little,
    beyond daily mundane duties.

But as I compare myself with others,
and ask myself if I'm doing more than the average American
to live my life in a slightly more sustainable way,
and if my example might teach folks something very useful,
    I realize I should consider
    looking at my own actions,
and writing about some things I do
that I think folks should imitate.

Thanks for helping me see that.

    Thanks again.

Bringing a child into the world at this point in history is a crime, the crime of child endangerment.
